Dreams Quest Origins Game Basics

Last week, we presented the first look of Dreams Quest Origins, an open-world blockchain role-playing game (RPG), with a dream-like environment of its DreamsVerse.

We’ve also presented the process from the concept art to the 3D creations of OM such as Red Feather Fern and enviro elements such as Colourful Growing Mushrooms. Continuing our methodology of agile development of Dreams Quest Origins game, we also showcased the 3D environment encompassing the assets we introduced.

Alongside these creations, we have also given game mechanics details on several occasions including our Discord Round Table Sessions, Gaming Panel, AMAs, and more.

In this article, we explore the game mechanics of the Dreams Quest Origins — an immersive world from the Creative Team that brought you The Chronicles of Narnia, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, and Bridge to Terabithia comes the first truly immersive and other-worldly environment beyond imagination.

Dreams Quest Origins on mobile

The Dreamers, our community, has spoken on the game mechanics of Dreams Quest Origins. Our initial plan included building a desktop-optimised game first and then later making it available on mobile. However, on our weekly Discord Round Table Sessions, our community repeatedly voiced their opinion on making Dreams Quest Origins a mobile game first.

After taking everything into consideration and speaking with industry experts, the team collectively decided to build the mobile version of the game for both — Android and iOS.

Dreams Quest Origins will launch initially as a mobile game, giving players a fully immersive open-world experience accessed by any smartphone or tablet. Users can access game assets in the game or transfer them directly to their Web3 wallets. We are committed to the design and development of the amazing graphics, the sneak peeks of which were made available in the last few weeks.

Collect and Earn

One of the game dynamics that we’ve introduced this year is upgrading from play-to-earn to a more robust collect-to-earn (C2E) model. The phrase brings more significance to the game mechanics of Dreams Quest Origins.

Collect and earn through discovering, upgrading, buying, selling and trading rare and collectible in-game inventory items stored as NFTs.
Players can unlock portals, modify artefacts, get to new locations, try to collect the elements needed and mix them to change or upgrade NFTs.
Players can unlock quests and collect Organic Matter, crafting it to infuse elements into crystals and learn how to further forge and upgrade game asset NFTs.
The DreamsVerse also encompasses a marketplace where players can buy assets helpful within the game.
The trader’s market will serve as a cornerstone for players to buy, sell and trade game assets, acquire various special edition items and upgrade NFTs for game use.

Master the Weka

In Dreams Quest Origins, Weka is the life force that enshrines the world. It is the ethereal magical life source that exists to unlock the mysteries of the organic matter and crystals. In the game, Weka will give players the ability to access things that are not available otherwise and they can unlock the mysteries of the organic matter and crystals that intertwine with Weka.

Solve the mystery

In one of the AMAs, Steve Good explained the dynamics of DreamsVerse and the quest that may be presented to the players.

The essence of the game is that there are 8 realms and a RIFT in the middle of it all. A place that is barren and unclear why. So Dreams Quest Origins is the starting point. A time far back in the past before the rift and players enter and are thrown into a situation where they have to quickly assess their environment and find out what’s going on they will have some quests to complete and be presented with information that makes little or no sense to them right now, but thats for them to unravel and solve mysteries.

Dream like environment

Since the beginning of our game, we have always introduced DreamsVerse as a dream-like environment.

“The idea or name really came from the idea that we are creating a game where you awaken in a dream. You suddenly realise the dream is some sort of reality. You are in this spiritual awakened state. Nothing is familiar and yet everything seems familiar. You are in a new place, with a mission, challenges and have to figure out who you are and why you are there and what your mission is.”

“It’s not earthly because it’s a dreamlike environment and things don’t make sense, you know? Our artists and our team have been basically making ferns, but the ferns are actually with feathers rather than you know, being like like a Fern, and everything that we’re making in the game is sort of playing with the subconscious and playing with the idea that things aren’t always as they seem, and it’s all kind of in a dreamlike environment.”
